Tim has always been close to the water. Swimming up to 10 sessions a week through his teenage years and then trying his hand at paddling a surf ski at the age of 17 for Freshwater Surf Life Saving Club.
The transition was not instantaneous, spending plenty of time in the water swimming after his ski.
Then one day it clicked at the age of 19. From that moment on he pushed himself harder as everything became easier.
After such slow and sometimes frustrating beginnings Tim has taken training and competing to it’s highest level both in flat water kayaking and ocean paddling. Representing Australia in both disciplines.
Tim has also competed in outrigger races, working as a team in 6 man events to strive for success.
Presently Tim works for the New South Wales Institute of Sport coaching their elite sprint kayakers preparing them for National teams and helping them fulfil their own goals. He also helped coach the Australian Under 23 Kayak Team in 2011.
Tim coaches the athletes at Freshwater Surf Club and in the 2010/2011 season helped two of it’s competitors win Australian Gold medals in the Female Under 17 Board Race and the Female Under 17 Ski Race.
Tim continues to compete for himself and his club, having won numerous national and international ocean ski titles.
Through Tim’s experience he is offering programming and paddling lessons, whether it is on a Ocean Ski, Outrigger, Paddle Board or Surf Ski for all that are interested.
So if you want to be better, this is the place to start.
